Academic partners
An academic partner is a lecturer or educator who runs classes on Learn.GT. Instructor accounts are free. You create a class, share one link or code with your students, and track their progress and grades.
- Sign in, then open Become an Academic Partner (
/academic/apply, linked from the Campus page). - Fill in:
- your institution, chosen from the list of Nigerian universities licensed by the National Universities Commission, or typed in if yours is not listed (3 to 150 characters);
- your department;
- your academic role (for example Lecturer).
- Submit. You can apply once per account. You land on the Academic Partner dashboard.
You can apply at most 3 times an hour.
Verified and independent instructors
Section titled “Verified and independent instructors”How much Learn.GT trusts your institution depends on the email address you signed in with:
| Your address | What happens |
|---|---|
| A school, university or work address, confirmed by sign-in | Verified at once. Your institution’s name is shown to your students and printed on their certificates, and you can create as many classes as you need. |
| A personal address such as Gmail | You start as an independent instructor. You can teach, but your institution’s name is not shown to students or printed on certificates, and you can run up to 2 classes. |
| A temporary or disposable address | Not accepted. Sign in with a real address. |
Verify later
Section titled “Verify later”Independent instructors can lift the limits from their dashboard:
- On the Academic Partner dashboard, find Verify your institution.
- Enter your school, university or work email and choose Email me a confirmation link.
- Open the one-time link in that email while signed in to Learn.GT.
Personal addresses cannot be used for this. If you have no institutional email, contact Learn.GT with a link to your staff page or a letter from your department, and the team will verify you by hand.
Learn.GT staff can also verify or suspend partner accounts from the Staff console.
