Search & Shortcuts

Press Ctrl + K (⌘ K on a Mac), or click Search or jump to… at the top of the dashboard, to open the command palette. Press Esc to close it.

Type at least two characters. Guardian searches your own organisation’s data and groups the matches by type:

Type Matched on
Agents (servers and devices) Hostname, label, or IP address — shown with Online / Offline status
Incidents Title or hostname — shown with severity and status
Groups Name
Sites Name
Users Username or email — only visible to Superadmins

Each type shows up to five matches. Searching is case-insensitive, and characters such as % and _ are matched literally. If you manage several organisations, you only ever see results from the organisation you are viewing.

Press ↑ and ↓ to move through the results and Enter to open one. Choosing an agent opens the Agents screen already filtered to that machine; choosing anything else opens the screen where that kind of item lives.

With nothing typed, the palette lists every screen you have access to, grouped by area. Type part of a name (for example hard for Hardware Health) to narrow the list. Screens you don’t have permission to open are never offered.

It also offers a few safe shortcuts, such as switching between the light and dark themes, and returning to all tenants when you are viewing a single one. It never offers actions that change or delete data.

If the search request fails, the palette says so and the screen shortcuts keep working.

  • Skip to content — the first Tab press on any page reveals a link that jumps past the sidebar.
  • Notifications and the palette can be opened and closed entirely from the keyboard, and Esc returns focus to where you were.

On screens narrower than about 1000 pixels the sidebar becomes a menu: tap the menu button at the top-left to open it, then tap a screen to jump there (the menu closes by itself; tap outside it or press Esc to close it without choosing). The search button in the header opens the same command palette. Lists such as Agents stack above their detail panel instead of sitting side by side, and wide tables scroll sideways within the table.
